Brief History

Craig Blass - 1999

The Craig Blass Memorial Scholarship was founded at James Madison University in November of 2001. It was created by friends of Craig in order to honor his memory and keep his spirit alive for years to come.

Craig attended James Madison from 1992-1996, graduating with a Finance degree and with a great deal of ambition. He returned to New York in order to pursue his dream as a Stock Trader at Cantor Fitzgerald in the World Trade Center. Craig was enjoying a successful career when his life was tragically cut short by the events of September 11th.

Craig was a dear friend to all who knew him. He cared about those around him, and went out of his way to make them happy. In college Craig was an active member of Theta Chi Fraternity, holding executive positions as well as being an avid athlete.

Craig leaves behind his parents, Barbara & Neil, and his brother Keith.

6th Annual Craig Blass Memorial Golf Tournament
The golf tournament is the single largest fundraiser for the scholarship and is held annually in Northern Virginia.  Players come out to have a great day of golf, win excellent prizes and support a great charity.  We encourage everyone to participate either by playing, attending the BBQ or by submitting a donation.
5th Annual Blass Memorial Tournament
In September 2007, the 5th Annual Blass Memorial Golf Tournament pushed the scholarship fund's total over the $100,000 mark.

4th Annual Blass Memorial Tournament gives out $30K in prizes!
